El Curso se impartirá en modalidad on line y presencial los miércoles de 17:00 a 19:00 horas en el aula 2 del Aula de la UNED de Azuqueca (El Foro. C/ Ciudad Real, 1. Azuqueca de Henares)

Empezará el miércoles 17 de marzo al 30 de junio de 2021.

1.TALKING ABOUT BOOKS AND FILMS:

-Adjectives, genres and expressions to describe books and films.

-Language of recommending.

-Verbs + gerund/infinitive: suggest and recommend verb patterns  

-Verb : ‘to be worth’

  Homework: Prepare ideas for book/film presentation.

  2. PRESENTATION LANGUAGE:

-Signposting, sequencing connectors

-Video- presentations.

-Analysis of audio presentation.

-Structuring a talk:’let’s begin with’ ‘let’s move on to’ etc

  In class: Give presentation about a book or film.

3.THE PAST:

-anecdotes, holidays

- narrative tenses: past simple, past continuous

  -past time expressions.

-connectors/linkers of time and purpose

 Homework: Record a monologue of an anecdote.

 4. MUSIC:

-Genres, adjectives, expressions related to music.

-Discussion questions sheet.(In pairs)

-Audio clips of genres. Class discussion

Grammar: make- ‘it makes me feel…’

 Homework: short written text on a favourite piece of music.

 5: INVITATIONS AND OFFERS:

Audio and video.

More complex structures with want/would like.  Structured written practice.

 6: ASKING QUESTIONS REVISION AND EXTENSION:

Question practice in present, past, future. Frequently asked questions.

Rhetorical questions. Quick-fire questions in a variety of situations. Question tags.

Structured written practice. Resolution of doubts.

The ‘no’ game.

 7. UNDERSTANDING HOTEL & HOLIDAY DESTINATION REVIEWS:

Accommodation vocabulary: furniture, fittings and problems.

Study of real reviews from tripadvisor, booking.com etc. Discussion.

Write a review in class.

8. GERUNDS AND INFINITIVES

Intermediate level verbs with gerunds and infinitives.

Videos.

Grammar exercises.

Speaking: matching game.

9. COMPARATIVES 2

Comparatives with ‘much’ a little’ ‘far’ etc (far more difficult, slightly less expensive…)

Structured written exercises.

Comparing books, films, restaurants, holiday destinations.

10 .CERTAINTY: Speculating with modals must may might could can’t in present

Must have, might have etc in past.

Grammar exercises.

Discussion in small groups: situations to speculate about.

11.FASHION:

Verbs: dress v. wear.

Fashion and clothes vocab.

True/false worksheet about video.

Description and discussion on issues in video.

12. PHOTOGRAPHY: associated vocab: shot, angle, perspective etc

Unusual photos. Audio and converstion worksheets.

Practice of speculation vocab from class 9.

Homework: Describe a photo you are proud of taking. 13. DESTINATION WALES (BBC language assistant adults)

To give students the opportunity to find out more about Wales.

To revise language of describing places.

Worksheets: Six tasks based around Wales and Welsh culture

14. DESTINATION SCOTLAND (BBC language assistant adults)

  Scotland brainstorm ideas. Scotland quiz.

Reading text about Scotland.

Discussion about Scotland’s national food. Unusual food you have eaten discussion.
