El curso articula el aprendizaje desde un enfoque comunicativo que permita adquirir el léxico relativo al área del Turismo. En consecuencia, se propondrán contextos relevantes tanto de intercambio y comunicación oral como de intercambio y comunicación escrita. Por lo tanto, gramática y léxico no se estudiarán de forma aislada, sino interrelacionados en situaciones profesionales típicas de la industria turística.

Durante el curso, se utilizarán textos y materiales formativos que introduzcan al profesional o estudiante en la diversidad cultural y humana inherente a la industria turística. Además, se le pondrá en contacto con textos y fuentes vinculados a los grandes retos de este sector, tanto desde la óptica del profesional como del consumidor.

      - Introduction. Concepts of "travel" and "tourism". Classification of tourists.
      - Travel motivations and tourist flows.
      - Finding accomodation. Accommodation types. Checking into a hotel.
      - Booking in advance. Cancelling a reservation. Last minute offers.
      - Complaint forms.
      - Means of transport and accommodation types. Hiring a car and booking a hotel.
      - Economic impacts of Tourism. Environmental impacts. The way to a sustainable Tourism.
      - Tourism resources in Galicia.

        - Wine and food as a window onto a variety of cultural, social, political and economic issues throughout the world and Galicia.

        - Introduction to wine history. Main winemaker countries nowadays.
        - Different marketing strategies regarding wine.

        - Organized wine tours, wine festivals and other special events. Examples in Galicia.
        -  Wine tourism strategy and the making of a unique experience for the tourist. Different winetours and their possibilities as an alternative tourism
        -  Wine management and tourism education customized to the particular demands of global wine trade from a local environment.
        - Domestic wine industries. Wine as a product to attract a high-quality tourism. Galician potentialities.
        - Understanding the importance of marketing in the current wine market.
        - The business of wine. Galician wine areas,trade structures, wine marketing, wine merchandising, viticulture, winemaking,wine styles, and professional evaluation techniques in sales and merchandising,distribution, marketing, import/export and consulting.

      • 16:00-19:00 h. 6. Guided tour into a wine cellar.
        Practical experience in tasks which will provide the participants with the chance to discover the foundations of winemaking, grape processing, and wine analysis from a local perspective.
        Enrolled participants will visit a wine cellar with a longfamily tradition in the wine world, cultivating vineyards that pass from generation to generation. The winery will have the most modern facilities for a careful vinification: pneumatic press, stainless steel tanks for controlled fermentation, refrigeration equipment for stabilization in isothermal barrel,and other elements necessary to obtain high-quality wines from the Denomination of Origin Valdeorras.

    Este curso está orientado a todas aquellas personas que tienen relación con el mundo del turismo en su ámbito de trabajo, así como a estudiantes y aficionados que desean recibir una formación especializada y específica en todo aquello que concierne a la gestión sostenible del turismo y el conocimiento de la lengua inglesa con fines profesionales. En particular, el curso se dirige a:
    • Todas aquellas personas interesadas en convertirse o adquirir los conocimientos profesionales relativos al inglés con fines turísticos.
    • Profesionales del sector turístico interesados en profundizar sus conocimientos de inglés con un fin profesional.
    • Licenciados y Graduados en turismo, periodismo y humanidades en particular, y de forma genérica a todos los titulados, interesados en el desarrollo profesional vinculado al mundo del turismo.
    • Personas interesadas en desarrollar un turismo sostenible.
    Prerequisites

    NIVEL DE INGLÉS: B1

    Methodology
    Se prevé una duración de 30 horas, entre contenidos teóricos y prácticos, y una serie de trabajos autónomos a llevar a cabo por cada alumno en sus respectivos domicilios. 
    Trabajo autónomo del estudiante: 6 horas
    Horas presenciales: 24 y horas online: 6.
