Quite possibly the most charming tale of murder, lust, greed, revenge and seafood ever made, Is a hilarious, Oscar-winning comedy. The laughs come fast when a crafty crook called Wanda (Jamie Lee Curtis) tries to cheat her Nietzsche-quoting boyfriend (Kevin Kline, in an Oscar-winning performance), an animal-loving hitman (Michael Palin), and an embarrassment-prone counselor (John Cleese) out of a fortune in diamonds. Kline is killer as a pretentious, thick-headed and the rest of the cast is equally hilarious, from Curtis’s clever femme fatale to Cleese’s uptight barrister to Palin’s stuttering, inept hitman whose increasingly ridiculous attempts to murder a little old lady only manage to decrease the size of her poodle pack.
